The Venture was created in January, 2012 as a result of the management’s determination in repackaging Inland (domestic) parcel into Logistics (Haulage) in order to attain the objective of organizational strategy on product diversification.
Furthermore, the Management of NIPOST, in its apparent realization and desire to function effectively and efficiently, in tandem with global postal realities (technological innovation, postal products development etc) of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), decided to create a haulage outfit, known as NIPOST LOGISTICS Venture.
In the area of international postal parlance, Logistics is a bye-product (so to say) of the physical delivery of parcel, which is one of the three dimensional pillars in the INTER-OPERABILITY of the POST.
Factually speaking, the privatization, commercialization and deregulation of corporations, hitherto government owned companies have resulted in an increased entrepreneurial initiatives and activities. This has been made possible, because the Nigerian economy, is highly characterized by trade, commerce and industry. Thus, the massive and high volume of goods and other related services, which are being constantly generated in the various markets of the economy, requires an attendant need for evacuation from one point of the country to another. Hence, it was this consideration that prompted NIPOST management to create a Logistics Venture.
To be the best customer responsive haulage outfit and to compete favourably in all market environments in Nigeria.
To provide qualitative Logistic services that is efficient, effective, reliable and affordable with a committed work force that guarantees customer satisfaction at all times.
As presently constituted, NIPOST Logistics, functions through Strategic Business Partnership arrangement with interested private transporters/contractors. The business is being conceptualised and consummated under the canopy of Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement. Infact, the principle of OUT-SOURCING remains sacrosanct and imperative, especially in the context of consignment evacuation/transportation.
